Minimalism Works. Always.
If you ever feel that your life needs an upgrade, this is what you can do make that happen instantly.
You will operate at a higher level by managing fewer things.

So what is minimalism anyways

To me its when you minimize number of things in order to maximize your time , thats what it really is maximizing time ⌚ aka doing more of what you want with more EASE.
How I “discovered” 💡 minimalism
Its a long story that ends like so : In Nov 2018 I had a flight 🛫to India and I had 4 hours to get my affairs together and pack, I had been out all night 🌃 (Sorry Dad) and I had to be at JFK by 8 am . It was 6 am by the time I started to pack , I only ended up packing the bare essentials and I travelled LYHT 🧳(yes Light with the Y ) I never felt freer in my entire life, going to JFK✈️ was a breeze.
I knew where everything was 🎒 because it was not a lot at all and I remember that I could just focus on doing more🧐, It was so easy to move around & I really enjoyed the entire experience. 😎

When I came back, I decided to implement some of this in my day to day. I started clearing things 👋 that did not add value in an essential way because I “ discovered” 💡I only really need things that truly simplify / add value to what I do & by having less I can do more !
Having Less = More Time ⌚
More Time ⌚ = More Opportunity / More Peace✔️
More Opportunity / More Peace ✔️ = More Prosperity ✨
I stopped collecting/hoarding shit🛍️ after that trip because WOW . When you can do more you can’t leave that kind of luxury 👑 behind.
“We are not impressing anyone with minimalism, this is something you do for yourself” - Sadia
I started seeing changes in my life, It wasn’t just monetarily💵 . My day to day was upgraded, I had more energy 💪 even on the worst day or worst situations , I had more robustness since I had to worry about managing less things. I basically enabled myself to cope better on the worst days🙃 and capitalize better on my best days 🙂.
You can say Minimalism was almost forced on me because I had to move 🚐 a LOT (3 times in 2019 ) but every time I moved, I intentionally halved 🛍️ my stuff to the point where I looked forward to such transitions.➡️
So if you want to start thinking about changing your life for the better instantly…..
Start with being conscious 👀 of the things that you really engage with, on a daily basis and these are not only the bare essentials these also include things like religious items 🕎, affirmations🧡 , pictures of loved ones 👪, your work/study related things📖, food 🍋, money💸 , everyday makeup 💄/beauty/self-care products, a loudspeaker that everyone is sick of (sorry dad & neighbours), anything that you end up using daily.
And then, on a weekend when you are ready look at everything that did not make it to the things that you engage with daily, start thinking about clearing them out strategically. 🤔
- If that is non perishable food 🥜 that you haven’t got to eating : Don’t throw but consume at earliest or give away.
- If it is an extra set of things among those that you use daily, like an extra bottle of sunscreen🧴, or an extra pair of shoes 👞 then it makes sense to not throw because you might end up using it moving forward.
- To all others : Think about why would you want to keep them and then think about what it is going to take to keep them. 🤨
Let me honest here , everything that you own takes up space, in your head. 🧠
So if you want to give something space in your head 🧠
because, your mind will claim responsibility or ownership of it you better have a damn good reason since that mental energy 🤔could be going into much better things you could do with yourself . 🎓
Not managing too much when doing things is the pathway to doing things with ease and fullness. 🤗
[Of course I did not include things you use for your work or passion and things that are of sentimental value (things that truly uplift you or keep you going in life, not every little gift given to you) that you may not use frequently but you still do engage with enough to miss. Those things you must keep.]
But things that aren’t of sentimental value but are just old & worn out ❌ and are occupying precious mental space need to go. ➡️
Get into Donating🤍 :
If you come from a middle class background , you don’t throw shit away until you use it fully or its completely worn out, but if its not serving you & you know it can serve someone else, you can find your local goodwill ✝️ and donate the usable things that you cant use anymore.
Being able to free your physical & mental 🤯 space while being able to provide for and make connections with the community will help create a healthy relationship with your things and people especially if you hoard/collect.
Buy with purpose :
I wont tell you to only buy the things you need because I know like me you will buy things that make you happy 😍 (we all need happiness). The one thing that made me stop being a shopaholic is not the budget 💰 LMAO 😅 but thinking about the fact that I will be the one responsible😶 for maintaining it and unless something is really going change my life for the better 🤩, I am too lazy to maintain it.
If I am not using it, I am not maintaining it. If I cant maintain it, no point in buying it.
Buy only what you can maintain and makes sense to maintain
I am a work in progress
I don’t hoard 🗄️ but I do forget about stuff that I used heavily at a point and then didn’t use and it accumulated,
As I write this I am thinking about giving my life an upgrade 👍 by doing the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG overdue device cleanup that I wanted to do, because yes holding onto zillions of digital files 📁📁that you cant track doesn’t serve you.
In short , Its an ongoing process because you will have to KEEP clearing out things periodically 📦(unless you go full hermit 🔮 where you have 3 things with too much hair or no hair at all) .
This is a spiritual makeover TBH but you would be living with purpose & awareness in a materialistic world rather than give it all up.
If you are too scared but want to get started :
Do what I did , take a trip 🚠 with the BARE essentials & experience what that luxury is ! (OH LORD🙏 , this is why I like to travel 🐚 )
OR
Start leaving the house🏠 with only the bare essentials🧧 & experience the high✨.
All of this would be pre COVID so
Post COVID:
Wipe your desk clean 💁🏻 (SERIOUSLY)
Wipe your bed 🛏️ clean and only have the things you need when you work or relax.
When you start enjoying more mental & physical space, thats when having it completely will become the essential next step.
If you are a woman DO THIS ONCE IN YOUR LIFE
Leave the house without a purse OR any bag. (I don’t own a purse, I don’t need a device to help me lose things quicker)
Here is the step by step of what you do :
Leave the house🏠 with your phone 📱, some money/cards 💳 and keys 🔑 THAT’S it
Step into a subway 🚇 if you can.
Keep your phone in the pocket.
Sit with your hands on your legs and SMILE to yourself 😏.
And watch every man flee. 🏃♂️
Trust me ladies 👩 , a free handed woman is the most lethal thing a dude will see. Its the best thing EVER. No coffee🥤 , No Gucci 👜 , just you and moi 😏.
I did that so many times and I had guys flee or moms with a baby👶 and 2 baby bags salivating (with hope) 🤤 over me. BEST thing to try in life as a woman.

Give it a shot,
You want a life upgrade, You clear stuff out and see it happen.
Stay well & Take Care ! 💖
