Cooking with just a blender & a pot . Why I started this.
With a spoon in the middle and a knife once in a while
I made this newsletter / blog to put my recipes and cooking hacks in one place and share it with everyone who wants to cook minimally with literally just a nutribullet (not sponsored but its the blender I love) and a big pot . You can follow along this journey/pursuit of mine to cook efficiently yet in an extremely flavorful way, because food gotta be tasty. Cmon.
A few things to know before we dive right in :
I am not a fan of writing too much so I am going to make sure that its easy to read and follow and straight to the point , so forgive me if it seems too much like an instruction manual lol.
I meal prep , let me tell you , only the blessed in this world know the luxury of not having to think what you are going to eat. Lol , its not that perfect but its crazy how much money , time & resources it saves. TBH its the only way i eat regularly…. My sincere condolences to all of you who cook 3 times a day, there is a better life out there.
You can follow me @iamanunaik on twitter and instagram , I dont post food content there at all …which is why we are here.
I am plant based because … fan of life and vitality really.
I love bullet points , easy to read and check off,.
Yes it is possible to cook with these 2 things , I have been doing it since my college days, when budgets are TYGHT and space is less. After a while i threw out all my shit other than the pieces of utensils I used which mainly include my blender and my big pot.
I dont chop , too much work, I get groceries once a month, I either get ready made frozen chunks (organic mostly) or batch prep (wash, cut into chunks and freeze ) them once a month.
Whenever i am ready to use , I blitz those veggie chunks up into pasta , curries , pizza sauce or rice dishes for Burrito / Burrito bowls etc once per week. Every week is almost an adventure where i cook something NYCE without spending too much time or effort and I am a fan of my own food . #selfreliance
Do i get bored of eating the same thing ? Yeah but “boring’’ is better than cooking last minute with nothing on hand already. (We all have been there and most of us ordered outside) To be real , if your food is satisfying to you , it will be able to do that over and over again for at most 5 days , so try & make sure it tastes good to you.
What I hope you get out of this : Self reliance for minimal effort, time , utensils , money and cleanup :-) .
Disclaimer : I am not a chef , i am an engineer in case it wasnt clear so apologies if the recepies arent as precise or battle tested or as fancy or as wordy as you would like.
Make sure your pot is oven safe…
Stay tuned for the first recipe post tommorow !
